What Is Dance Composition III?
Dance Composition III is the final course in a series of choreography classes required for BFA Dance majors and minors at Missouri State University. Students create a five to eight minute dance piece using their own original choreography. Composition III students cast their pieces with fellow Missouri State students and choose music, design lights or collaborate with a lighting designer (this year, we have the pleasure of working with Ryan Hilke), and assemble costumes for their dances. Additionally, the choreographers work together to assemble their final showing; a formal concert for friends, family, and the public to enjoy. This year's concert will be held at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on November 16 at 7:30 PM and November 17 at 2:30 and 7:30 PM.
